Suprata for boatyards and haul-out yards

One system for the travel lift, the shop and the storage yard

A boatyard does two jobs at once: it works on boats and it stores them. Suprata keeps both on one customer and one boat record, so the haul-out, the bottom job and the winter storage bill clearly and nothing falls between the shop and the office.

What a normal week looks like without the right system

We hear these from boatyards and haul-out yards all the time. Here is what Suprata does about each one.

Every March it is a panic over who needs commissioning, and every October the same thing with winterizing.

Service agreement schedules create the spring commissioning and fall winterizing jobs on their own, in the month you choose.

A customer asks what we did on his boat three years ago, and the answer is in a paper folder somewhere.

Each boat has its own record with hull number, length, engine and insurance, and every job done on it links back to that record.

Storage rent and the engine repair end up on one confusing bill, and the owner calls to argue about it.

Storage bills through Reservations on its own schedule and service work bills through jobs, so recurring rent and one-time repairs arrive as separate, clear invoices.

After a storm I need to know which boats in the yard have water in them and whose insurance has lapsed.

An audit walk on a tablet checks every storage spot, records condition and photos, and flags missing insurance for follow-up.

A day in the life with Suprata

One ordinary day, start to finish

Here is how the work flows when every call, job, booking and payment lives in one place.

  1. 7:00 am

    Lift schedule

The yard manager lays out today's haul-outs and launches by crew on the dispatch board.

  2. 8:30 am

    Haul-out with photos

The lift crew opens the Haul-Out job on a tablet, photographs the hull as it comes out and records its condition.

  3. 10:00 am

    Estimate for the owner

The mechanic finds a worn impeller and a wasted zinc, builds the estimate from the price list and sends it to the owner.

  4. 1:00 pm

    Parts off the shelf

The impeller and zincs come out of inventory onto the job, and the stock count drops.

  5. 3:00 pm

    Into winter storage

The boat goes into indoor bay 4. The storage reservation records which boat is in which spot and bills on its own schedule.

  6. 5:00 pm

    Job to invoice

Finished jobs become draft invoices for the office to review and send with a pay link.

Can I run the shop first and add slips and storage later?

Yes. Most boatyards set up the service side in the first week, then add Reservations for slips and storage over the following weeks.

What happens to a boat's history when it is sold?

Move the boat record to the new owner's account instead of renaming the old account. The service history goes with the boat, and the old owner's records stay intact.

Can I require insurance before a boat is stored here?

Yes. Require an insurance certificate, registration or a survey for each storage type. Bookings can be blocked until it is on file, and owners are emailed before it expires.

Does it work with my accounting software?

Yes. Customers, invoices and payments sync one way to QuickBooks Online, and Xero is supported too.
