Suprata for marine service companies

Boat service and slip rental on one customer, one boat, one record

A boatyard is two businesses: the work on the boat and the place the boat lives. Suprata keeps each boat's service history on its own record, runs commissioning and winterizing on a schedule, and bills slips and dry storage from the reservations side. The customer is one account.

What a normal week looks like without the right system

We hear these from marine service companies all the time. Here is what Suprata does about each one.

Every March it is a panic: who do we need to commission, and which boats are on the hard?

Spring commissioning and fall winterizing are yearly agreements that create their jobs on time, for every regular customer.

Someone asks what we did on their boat two seasons ago, and the answer is in a paper folder.

Each boat is a record with its hull, engine, documentation and insurance details, and every job done on it is linked there.

We have boats in our yard with lapsed insurance, and we only find out after a storm.

Make insurance a required document, and Suprata emails the owner as it nears expiry and lists it on the Expiring Soon dashboard.

Slip rent and engine repairs end up on one confusing bill.

Slip and storage rent bills from the reservation, service bills from the job, so the customer sees what is recurring and what is one-time.

A day in the life with Suprata

One ordinary day, start to finish

Here is how the work flows when every call, job, booking and payment lives in one place.

  1. 7:30 am

    Yard board

The service manager checks today's haul-outs and engine jobs on the dispatch board by crew.

  2. 8:30 am

    Commissioning wave

This week's spring commissioning jobs, created by each customer's agreement, are already on the schedule.

  3. 10:00 am

    Repower options

An outboard will not idle. The service writer sends a rebuild option and a repower option, and the owner picks one online.

  4. 12:30 pm

    Boat intake

A tech fills in the Marine Boat Info form on a tablet: hull, engine hours and condition, with photos.

  5. 3:00 pm

    Expiring insurance

The office checks the Expiring Soon dashboard and sends one-click reminders to owners whose insurance certificate lapses this month.

  6. 4:45 pm

    Close the jobs

Finished jobs roll parts and yard labor into invoices. Slip rent bills on its own from the reservations side.

We are a boatyard, not a marina. Is this for us?

Yes. The help center has a setup plan for the boatyard in between: the service side first, then slips and storage on the reservations side.

Can I see the history for one boat, not just one customer?

Yes. Each boat is its own record on the owner's account, and every job done on it links to it. Customers with several boats keep them all on one account.

Can it track boat insurance and registration?

Yes. Make them required documents, and Suprata requests uploads and reminds owners before they expire.
