Suprata for flat glass, shower door and commercial glazing companies

Every piece of glass measured, cut, installed and paid for

Every piece of glass is a custom size, and some of it can never go back. Suprata's guided Flat Glass job runs openings, estimate, approval, ordering, the shop, the install and billing. Commercial Glazing adds bids to several contractors, submittals, change orders, pay applications and retainage.

What a normal week looks like without the right system

We hear these from flat glass, shower door and commercial glazing companies all the time. Here is what Suprata does about each one.

We ordered a tempered unit from the customer's phone measurement and paid for it twice.

Every opening records how it was measured, and rough sizes can be quoted but never reach the fabricator or the cutting table.

Frameless showers are where we lose money. One panel comes back 3/16 too wide.

The shower designer works out every panel, hinge cutout and hardware kit from three wall-to-wall widths and your hardware system's gaps.

We bid the same building to four contractors and do the takeoff four times.

Do the takeoff once and copy it to each contractor's bid; recording the award closes the other bids by itself.

The contractor holds back ten percent and I lose track of what we are owed on which job.

Pay applications bill against the schedule of values each month, make the lien waivers, and track retainage held until it is released.

A day in the life with Suprata

One ordinary day, start to finish

Here is how the work flows when every call, job, booking and payment lives in one place.

  1. 7:30 am

    Online requests

Two quote requests came in from the website overnight with sizes and photos. One click turns each into a Flat Glass job.

  2. 8:30 am

    Cut list

The shop works the cut list. A mirror fits on a remnant, and choosing it takes the remnant off the rack.

  3. 10:00 am

    Shower design

An estimator enters three wall-to-wall widths for a door and panel. The designer sizes both pieces and adds the hinge kit.

  4. 12:30 pm

    Deposit and order

A homeowner approves a low-iron shower and pays the deposit. The made-to-order glass goes to the fabricator.

  5. 2:30 pm

    Submittal approved

The architect returns the storefront shop drawings approved as noted. Made-to-order glass for that contract is now free to order.

  6. 4:30 pm

    Pay application

It is month end. The project manager enters percent complete on each line, and the application, invoice and lien waiver are made together.

Questions we hear

Straight answers

Asked by flat glass, shower door and commercial glazing companies before they switch.

Are the glass workflows part of Suprata Suite?

They are add-ons to Suprata Suite. Flat Glass and Commercial Glazing appear under Glass in your menu once they are on your plan; ask us and we will turn them on.

How does billing work on a commercial contract?

Each month you fill in percent complete and stored materials on the schedule of values. Submitting makes the invoice, the application and the lien waiver, and retainage is billed at the end.

Can customers send us their sizes and photos online?

Yes. Put the glass quote form on your website. Requests arrive in an inbox on the Flat Glass board.

What happens when a piece arrives broken or does not fit?

Record a remake with the reason and who pays. Fabricator mistakes go back as a vendor return, and customer-caused remakes can be billed.
